Local authorities highlight their work on housing

Local authorities across the country are highlighting their work in delivering housing solutions during #HousingFocus Week, October 1st to 5th.

Local authorities are committed to maintaining and building on their progress in delivering new social housing solutions for the community, and supporting the development of new housing generally to increase supply across the country.

Housing is one of the major challenges facing Ireland at the moment, and local authorities are at the forefront in addressing this challenge, in line with the Rebuilding Ireland action plan. Local authorities are making significant progress in this area with the number of social housing units delivered by the sector increasing year on year.

Local authorities provide social housing in a number of ways including through the delivery of support mechanisms such as HAP and by playing a strategic role in managing the delivery of social housing in collaboration with other bodies.

Keep up with what your local authority is doing by following them on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
