New local authority framework to support local business

For the past number of months, local authorities have been planning and implementing initiatives to support business in their cities and counties.

As the work of local authorities is community-centric and covers a broad spectrum of areas, this has included working with local enterprise, re-imagining public realm, and providing direct supports and activation measures.

The CCMA through its Business Committee has worked with the Department of An Taoiseach’s Interdepartmental Group to ensure robust structures are in place to adapt to the change in Covid-19 restriction levels, as we enter and navigate the Christmas season and beyond.

A Framework for Developing Local Area Sustainability Initiatives to Support Local Business was developed and agreed by the Interdepartmental Group and can be read here

The Framework also looks to the earlier part of 2021 and beyond to ensure the necessary supports are in place.
